Artist BIO
Bianca Gomez-Hernandez
My art is inspired by the imagination of my inner child, the lyrics and the sound from the music I listen to, and my wide range of emotions that I allow myself to feel. Frida Kahlo once said “I am my own muse, I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to know better.” I take what I know and love, and form it into artwork that speaks to others. I love to create interactive art with a third or fourth dimension that allows for the viewer to wear, touch, feel, or hear. My art plays with bright colors, trippy shapes, detailed line work, and anything that adds magic. I graduated with my BFA in fashion from SCAD so my art takes many forms from painted murals to custom-painted clothing and jewelry to digital art and stickers. I have painted murals for commercial and residential spaces in the St. Pete and Tampa Bay area and thrive by creating art at live-painting events around the city. In the Spring of 2024 I was able to take my love for art and fashion and held a charity event “For the Love of Denim” benefitting CASA. Local artists gathered for live-painting on handpicked denim with a fashion show to follow showcasing the artist’s work. A percentage of each sold piece was donated to CASA. In the summer of 2023, I had an art piece featured at Odyssey Music Festival in St. Pete. When I’m not making art, I’m thrifting clothes to create art and bartending at the local disco. My life is drenched in color and sparkle. It celebrates and feeds the parts of me that are shown through my work. Every piece I make is a piece of me.
