Artist BIO
Elizabeth Vitale

I was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with my family when I was 2 years old. I am a Collage and Fiber Artist and a retired Art Educator living in Delray Beach Florida.
This journey with fiber art began with hand embroidered tapestries when I was seventeen and continued throughout my undergraduate education.
Years later, I was introduced to the Sewing Machine, and this opened a whole new creative investigation for me. I used the sewing machine to create abstracted expressive works while experimenting with a variety of substrates during my graduate studies at Tyler School of Art.
Recently, the content of my art works has evolved further, the textures are varied and dominant. The abstracted expressive free form motifs are inspired by nature in contrast to textures from man-made everyday use objects.
Currently, I work at the Boca Museum School on a part time basis and the rest of my time creating new works of art.
