Victoria F. Vega

Victoria F. Vega is a proud Latina, born and raised in South, FL. She creates work with aims to liberate Latinx communities through depictions of patronesses from Latin American countries as a symbol of love, protection and acceptance. Her work has a nostalgic aura to that of the home of a loved one, such as an abuela or tia - for these virgins/saints are often displayed in the homes of Latinxs. Using her work as a vehicle to comment on societal issues such as reproductive rights, gentrification, colonization and more… Victoria is an activist in the streets as well as on the canvas.
