ELIZABETH ERAZO BAEZBorn in Colombia, Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts "Fine Arts" Superior Academy of Arts at the District University of Bogotá, Master in Aesthetics and Art History at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, Bogotá, Arts teacher with more than fifteen years of experience, cartoonist from the National School of Caricature, individual and collective exhibitions, painter, draftsman, potter, physiognomy caricaturist The basis of my work is two-dimensional art.
I work with different painting techniques such as oil, watercolor, mixed media, but mainly acrylic. The symbol, the animal and death are the three essential elements in my work that create images that are the product of geometry, stylization and transparency that, when merged, generate visual pathways that invite the viewer to enter a work that plays between symbolism and abstraction. As a Latin American artist, I see our reality immersed in certain peculiarities that make our work have certain characteristics that identify it. In my case, a painting is the result of what I interpret as Colombian, with deep and strong roots; but with some complex social and cultural phenomena where the party and death coexist mutually. |
