I enjoy photography because it helps me to chronicle my world and keep memories of the extraordinary which happens in what seems to be the ordinary. My favorite subjects are nature, architecture and travel locations. I enjoy mixed media and collages. I find it interesting to juxtapose images so that they complement one another in a stimulating fashion. My background is portrait photography. I operated a portrait studio for 12 years.
My specialty then was family and child photography and also head shots for business people and actors. Prior to those days, I attended the University of Colorado and learned landscape photography and darkroom techniques. I have attended classes at Montgomery College in Maryland, the International Center for Photography, The George Eastman Museum and the School of Visual Arts. I have also taught photography at the Adult School of Montclair. I have had many exhibits at New Century Artist Gallery in New York, and Brassworks in Montclair, NJ. I curated an alternative processes exhibit with 12 artists for Studio Montlcair in Montclair, NJ. I work from a studio in East Orange, NJ when I am in NJ.
