Mario Lopez Pisani was born in Lima, Peru, and graduated from the BFA program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, at Tufts University. He is currently an arts industry professional in Florida.

Since migrating to the U.S from Peru, Mario has been involved in the arts community, from an early public education in arts magnet programs to an undergraduate education in fine art. As an artist, Mario has created several projects related to Peruvian and American culture, society, and many observations in the visual landscape of the everyday. Through the vantage point of analyzing some topics from abroad while others as lived experiences, the work can become a space between these places and help explore cultural, political, and entertainment phenomena.

Other projects in the artist's body of work comment on contemporary life, engage the use of humor in fine art, and study the practice of architecture and urban design in public art. Ultimately, the artist's interpretation of culture and society expressed in the work is subjective, so the work is made as light commentary. The artist hopes the body of work can create an entertaining and engaging discourse on the duality of being an American citizen and living the immigrant experience.

Aesthetic and conceptual influences are inspired by the Italian Arte Povera movement of the 1960s, the history and practice of painting and portraiture, popular Peruvian comedy shows, and American and Latin American history, among other subjects.
