SANDRA "LULA" GOVERandra “Lula” Gover was born in Argentina. She has been living in the United States of America since 2000. She has a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts from the University National of Rosario, Argentina. Lula specialized in painting. Her works in oil, acrylics and mixed media, narrate an emotional concept, and other times, socials and communities. We can see in many of her artworks her image as a self-portrait, she takes the role of the character being created, immerses herself within the situation experienced by the characters, and expresses their own emotions and personal situations.
These characters are real people that the artist has met in her life, stories heard or witnessed that moved her and it is the inspiration for her artistic creations. Lula has exhibited her artworks in many shows both nationally and internationally. She received a Special Mention Award on “For a Life Memory Art Show” at Provincial Cultural Center in Santa Fe, Argentina. Also she participed at “Art in the Garden'' Floating Cubes Intallation with a group of artists organizazed by Piag Museum at Epcot Center of Orlando. Disney World in 2009. Lula participated as an Art Coordinator of the “Engraving Experimental Techniques Workshop '' by Claudia Bernardi, Professor of the University of California, Berkeley; USA. Workshop was dictated at the National University of Rosario, Argentina, 1998. Lula worked on a project for Kamilion Production as an Illustrator and Designer for a Fashion Show and Artistic Event by New York MTV Channel. In 2010, Sandra “Lula” Gover founded and coordinated “Through the Eyes of a Child”, the Children’s Art Show. During 5 years, it was held at the Artrageous Gallery at Merrick Park Mall, Coral Gables and the Hargan Art Gallery at Wynwood Art Walk Miami Art District. Lula founded Scuola D’Arte, her personal Art Studio, where she creates her artworks and teaches art by organizing art events and special workshops. Lula participated with David Celis (President of the Second Movement of Muralism in Mexico) in his Community Art Project in the creation of a Mural with the sgraffito technique along with his group of artists in Tlalpan, Mexico. Currently, Lula is dedicated to her Art production on painting, drawings, and mixed media. |
