TWYLA GETTER FUCHS
Twyla is the recipient of numerous awards for her paintings including a grant from the Enrico Donati Foundation, NYC, NY. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Twyla has been a full-time artist for over twenty years and began painting at the age of seven years old. Her work has been shown in museum exhibitions and also in a network of galleries throughout the U.S. Her art was selected for two international Sumi-E shows at the Osaka, Japan; National Museum of Fine Art. She creates in many mediums including Painting, photography, manipulated digital radiography, and printmaking. Her paintings and photography are collected by both private and corporate art enthusiasts and have been purchased by over 90 corporations and individual collectors. Commissioned artworks are welcomed. Also, art and licensed art available for corporate, hospitality, and healthcare projects.
Her current works include manipulated digital radiographs (x-ray) series - an Art/Science Collaboration. GMO- Genetically Modified Objects- “This artwork is my artistic vision interpreting the impact of technology and humans on natural objects and the environment changes happening in our world today. Radiography explodes the usual, the “normal” representations. It is more than a technique- it is the only possible “means” to read reality, through matter rather than light. A blueprint.
