Artist BIO

Janet Schwartz

My love of art began in preschool when my mother signed me up for classes at the Tampa Museum of Art. Although I have had other careers, that love of art has never faded and I continued to develop my artwork via formal training and experimentation.

My artwork reflects my love and fascination with nature, both physical and metaphysical. Exploration of the shapes, composition and color, as it appears in the world around us, and the emotions that are generated excites me. I strive to convey my perspective to the audience by drawing them into a world that envelops them and connects to them at an emotional level. I work toward that goal by continuing to layer the paint and other media until I feel that I achieved a good representation of my visual and unspoken language.
